Music Review: Seua Yai

Hello blog. First of all, I have to say that this isn't going to be a review which looks like a review because I'm a noob in writing reviews.

I'm a bit surprised to see that this band isn't so well-known compared to any other Thai rock bands. Even searching for their photos is a bit difficult job to do. Oh, OK - wait. The last time they released their album is about 5 years ago. No wonder.

I know I've been very late in discovering about these guys. It all started when I watched 'The Letter', a movie starring Num Attaporn (yeah, the vocalist). I began to listen to some of their songs after discovering about this band. At first, some songs weren't so impressive when I listened to them on YouTube. However, after listening to the mp3 versions, headphones on, WOW they are awesome!

One thing I like about Thai music is their awesomeness in rock/pop rock genre. I'm an avid fan to rock/pop rock music, I love listening to the beat of drums, guitar solos, etc. and I love this band's music. Some songs, like Wat-too Klaai Pleng and Dai Yin Laeo Hai Neuay have really nice guitar solos. They're relaxing and rock-ish at the same time. That's what I love.

Talking about the band's name (เสือใหญ่), it actually means 'Big Tiger'. Not bad to me. One good thing is that they named their band in Thai, it's good coz it shows their identity - compared to a lot of Thai bands out there that have weird english names (decided not to mention LOL). I love their logo too ^^

Khan Kluay 2 on TV Tomorrow!

8am. I will be in front of the TV tomorrowwwwwwww!!!

I am sooo excited, that's why I shared this as my status on fb. HAHA. Unfortunately, it is dubbed in BM by Akim and Mila. I actually want to watch this movie with the real Thai voices. My two reasons:

1. The original voices are by Num Attaporn and Anne Thongprasom!
2. I watched the 'behind the scenes'. Original voices portray way better emotions. You should see Anne Thongprasom cry.

Why on earth should they dub this animation movie from the beginning? Subtitles could have solved the problem. But ah, I forgot, it is an animation movie. Some kids can't read subtitles yet. LOL.

Waking up early tomorrow. Tuning in to channel Astro Ceria. WHAT? Yep, you've heard it. ASTRO CERIA. LOL.

p/s. BM version is "Jumbo Gajah Biru". Another LOL. XD

On TV Today

Watched Detective Conan just now and guess what was going on in today's episode? It was quite funny because Mitsuhiko (and not Conan) solved the case in just a 30-minutes episode. It was funny to me. Normally if the case is solved by Conan, it will take 2 episodes. What an irony.

And because I had too much time to kill, I watched this too

Don't get me wrong, I am not an avid fan of sinetrons. However, this one is so hard to forget about. Whenever I think of doing something else instead of watching this, I would always find myself magically already sitting comfortably on the sofa with eyes glued to the screen of my family's 21 inch Panasonic TV.


Honestly I don't really like this drama because it's too dramatic and to make matters worse, what I'm watching right now is only half of the complete series. After doing some research on-line, I found out that it has more than 200 episodes. WHAT?!

However, like I said just now, it's too good to be missed. The actors and actresses are soooo awesome in acting, they just made the whole thing look real. The tears, the smiles, oh gosh - not to mention their looks. Everyone has this unbelievably beautiful facial skin that causes me to sometimes curse whenever they zoom the cameras because the actresses (even the actors) do not have a single blackhead on their noses. Yeah I love typing out long sentences to make it sound wahhhhh.

In today's episode, Ilham confessed to his dad that he loves Safa. And he cried. That girl is one lucky girl.

Drama after drama, I realise that it's not going to end even after I enter college life. I mean, this sinetron this not ending soon so I'm pretty much wasting my time because there will be a slim chance that I'll be able to watch the final episode, especially if I will be away from home after the results are announced.

That was my story about what happened on TV today :P

The Christmas Hope

Awesome Christmas movie I watched on tv last night! I love movies about families. And yeah, what made me say this is an awesome movie is because it made me cry a few times.

Ah, it's been a long time since I last watched a really good movie like this.

14th February

..and I'm on a marathon of watching:

12 parts, oh I have to say it left me laughing all the way. This is such a hilarious movie! I never imagined that finally after only a few months after its release, I am able to watch this even with English subtitles! Thanks a lot to AnothaiDara, who (surely) had made thousands of fans of this movie to smile all day long. I'm one of them.

You can read my previous post (months ago) about how I really wanted to watch this movie [here]. As I told you guys before, I'm not a huge fan of Ken Teeradej eventhough I have to say he's really charming. The movie itself has something special in it. I love the concept, the storyline, the humour. It's just an extremely superb movie, in fact now I think this is one of the best Thai movies I've even watched. So what are you guys waiting for? Go to YouTube and watch it NOW! You surely won't regret!

New Stuff - Singto

So what is this Singto thingy? You must be wondering.

I'm actually talking about someone named Singto. I mean Singto the Star 5 - winner of The Star 5 (a reality show of course in Thailand) - I never knew about him before, until I stumbled across his latest and new song, Mai Yahk Dai Yin Siang Ter last night. It was my first attempt of translating a Thai song (officially) to get a free CD. Kahkah. Can't believe I spent two hours on the song until I didn't realise I fell in love with it. Sadly the official MV is not on YouTube yet as it is still really really new (oh my, that sentence is sure a bad one).

How shocked I am to know that he won that title when he's still 16. He sure has a very deep voice, I don't really like it but you know, the song is not bad - something I've been searching for in this era of Thai songs that sounds so K-pop. This song is just different - it gives me a new view on new Thai songs. Most of the songs nowadays sucks especially when it comes to imitating the beat and style of K-pop stuffs. Ew~. (I'm not saying all are bad. Rock songs from Thailand never fail to make me feel rock, old and new. Yeah~)

Singto's voice is so Thai~ oh my..I'm starting to love him ^.^

I typed out สิงโต alone, pictures of lions came out. So I added "The Star 5". This is what I got: *screams* (a so Thai face)

G-Force is Awesome!

Watched it last night at MBO and I was left speechless, (another way to actually reflect the word sakai). The movie was a really nice one with lots of hilarious scenes. Certainly I recommend everyone to watch it this Raya holidays lols.

Really Want to Watch This!

Lols. How shocked I was when I first watched this trailer. I couldn't believe that girl was singing one of Nuvo's hit song. Oh man, and I spot 2 Nuvo posters on the wall! I hope I have one!!

Ok, that's not the point. The main thing is, oh my gosh..Ken looks damn cute like he always is. Not a massive die-hard fan actually, but I really admire his attractiveness. This movie looks hilarious. I wish I will be able to watch it before it becomes a cerita basi.

Dare to Watch?

Sorry, not a fan of horror movies but I am shocked to see the changes of kid actor Kao from Kaew Tah Pee. Plus Charlie Trairat looks so handsome now. Not to forget he's also 16. And Dan is in this movie. Owh, and pretty Marsha that never shows signs of ageing!~

Man, I have to watch this. But no, I don't have the guts. :D

Current Obsession

Okay, here it goes.
First, I watched Song Kram Nang Fah (Battle of Angels).
Second, I felt attracted to the pra'ek. (btw pra'ek means hero)
Third, I did some research - what's his name? (oh, ok..Kong Saharat)
4th, I searched through YouTube. (ohh..he's also a singer..)
5th, WHAT? he's a guitarist from a band called Nuvo?
and finally.. I Became A Fan of Nuvo, automatically.
and that's my current obsession.

Man, they are just so awesome. That's what I call real Thai music, better than what we listen to now. The new era of Thai music is just sometimes too K-pop-ally / J-pop-ally inclined. Y'know what I mean. Not to say that the new generation of singers are bad, but for me, I prefer the oldies~ xD

So I haven't told you guys that this band had their first album in 1988. I'm sure you're laughing at me right now. They split in 1993 but reunited in 2001. Last year they released another album, "Love You Never Die"

Back to Kong Saharat again. This dude is awesome. I was flabbergasted the first time I watched their concert videos. He can really play solo. Awesome dude~ The feeling of wanting to own a Fender Strat becomes greater and greater as I watch him play. Man I hope tonight a Fender Strat will fall from the ceiling and land on my bed. xD

Worth Watching

The Tin Mine (2005) - I know I'm such a left-behind person.

My first impression when I first looked at this movie poster - boring. But a few weeks ago I noticed that it was on tv one night (I couldn't remember the date, but I'm sure it was on weekday because on the next day I had to go to school). I took up the decision to give it a try as it is a Thai movie. Why should I miss the chance?

Looks old. However the starting part of this movie dragged me to watch till the end. Great storyline. I didn't expect I loved it. Really! It's a biographical movie full of old memories, there're also elements of comedy and this movie is such a beautiful movie in it's own way.

This one's another movie...I don't know how cool it is but I must watch this. Tik Jesdaporns in it - that's the reason. ^^

Queens Of Langkasuka - I can't wait to watch this superb movie!

My Review on...Ong Bak 2

If you guys are longing for a gruesome sword battle action, this one's gonna be an ideal choice. Tony Jaa proudly presents his latest movie, ONG BAK 2 which he's also the director. Big names such as Prachya Pinkaew, Sorapong Chatree and Dan Chupong was also there to be seen before the movie starts. (Although I didn't even realise the presence of Dan Chupong in the movie). Sorapong Chatree appears to be a long-haired man with a long beard. Scary.

No doubt Tony Jaa is still as superb as always. His impressive Muay Thai skill is still impressive, I have to say. However, in this movie there is an enormous difference if compared to Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong. It's Krabi Krabong, introducing the Muay Thai style with the sword. (I think so). Yah, whatever it is, I have to say it's scary.

Tony Jaa never forgets about the elephants for sure. I was totally sakai seeing the part where he tamed the elephants and made 'em kneel at him. Awesome!

I guess I really don't have to mention anything about the synopsis.Besides, I guess no one's gonna read this! xD Talking about the plot instead, in my opinion it's easy to understand. At first it's a kind of scene that makes us full of suspense and eager to watch till the end. There's a lot of flashback which seems to be the 'seasoning powder' to this movie. One more thing, this is a warning: If you're a type of person who's really emotional and afraid of blood, just prepare yourself with something. I have to admit that I nearly dropped some tears.

The scene close to the ending was a lil bit shocking. I mean after the suspense, I was shocked to know the truth. Watch it yourself if you want to know. xD The way the storyline is arranged is quite interesting. I felt the 'feel' in me.

As I mentioned earlier, this movie is quite scary. 18 SG for sure. It's just swords, arrows, swords, blood throughout the movie. And a little element of 'half-human-half-leopard' (I guess so). A 5 year old kid should not watch this! He/She'll get a nightmare for sure!

Overall this movie is not so bad but not as great as Ong Bak. I still love it though. Tony Jaa did a very good job. Plus, it's not easy to make a movie set in the time of hundreds of years ago. Swords are just not my interest. It's scary. I still stick to the 'Anothai style' sword battle in Leurd Kattiya I guess! I prefer the exchange of punches and kicks as in Ong Bak!
